I was trying to capture the contrasting colors and tone.
With this landscape I was working on framing while trying to catch the light tones in the water.
These sail boats are tucked away in a cove. I wanted to capture the essences of how they were enclosed by natural boarders. I saw this and it was like a moment where I saw what I wanted to share and how to frame it before I even had my camera out.
I had seen pictures similar to this, and I just had to try it. It was interesting and I was working on creating depth while catching the shadows.
I was trying to capture the color of the setting sun while creating the silhouette.
Just because, my intention was for my own enjoyment. I love the docks and thus one will be removed soon as the season ends.
I was trying to capture the swirl of the clouds as the sun was trying to break through at dusk. It was so angry in the clouds, the peace of the water and the crowd of people flowed.
This was taken in New York City as we were going over to Ellis Island. My intention was just to capture the skyline with the contrast between the blue sky and dark, cold water.


I think you did a great job. My favorites are the top picture and the black and orange.
